A bit about who I am, what I build, and how I approach creating useful digital products.
Hi, I’m Liam Quinn. I'm a software engineer from the UK and I have been building things for most of my life. I wrote my first bits of PHP when I was about twelve. It was mostly small sites for me and my friends, like places to share memes and simple games that barely worked but were fun to make.Things changed when I found Laravel when I was fifteen. That was the first time programming felt like something I could really get good at. Since then I have kept building different projects, learning new tools, and picking up new languages when they catch my interest. Lately I have been learning Swift.
I like figuring out what people truly need rather than just taking the first request at face value. I enjoy talking through problems, understanding the reasoning behind them, and shaping something that actually helps. I use Laravel, Vue, Nuxt and JS or TS the most, but I am happy to work with whatever suits the job.
This year I set myself a simple goal. Ship one project every month. I want to get better at finishing things and putting them out there, even when it feels uncomfortable. I don't think the fear of shipping ever disappears, but I want to get used to working through it.
Outside of work I go the gym, plan where to travel and what to cook next, and tinker away at whatever ideas come to mind.If you want to get in touch, feel free to reach out!
